Experiencing Alaska's Year-round Playground!

Experience the Northland’s year-round playground. The Kenai Peninsula is a land of majestic beauty, abundant wildlife, and countless recreation activities.

Covering an area from Kenai to Anchorage, the Peninsula tour encompasses many of the sites available on the Girdwood-Portage Glacier and Seward tours. So be sure to look at those web pages to grasp just how much you can see on this trip.

The city of Kenai is a small town but it has a real Alaskan atmosphere. It is rich in culture and tradition having been heavily influenced by both its Russian and Athabascan residents.

One of the most famous historical sites in Kenai is the Holy Assumption of the Virgin Mary Church. Over a 100 years old, it is a favored tourist spot that still serves the Russian Orthodox community in the area.

There are many historic sites in Kenai, so be sure to stop by the Kenai Convention and Visitor's Cultural Center to get the low-down on where to go. Or if you're more interested in modern culture, try visiting the Kenai Fine Arts center. It display the works of Peninsula artists and potters.

It will come as no surprise that the Kenai Peninsula is most famous for its wildlife, particularly the fish. Take a hike up the Russian River to watch the salmon try to jump the falls. If you're lucky, you'll catch some brown bears looking for lunch. Fishermen from all around the world flock to the famous rivers of the Peninsula with the hosts of salmon.

Kenai also offers many beautiful hiking trails. The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge hosts most of them. Or if you prefer beachcombing, try visiting the Captain Cook State Park. The beaches hold treasure such as agates and shells that children absolutely love.
